| Clairvoyance Evening at Chadwell Working Mens Club. |
| Mandy Masters from Take a Breaks Fate & Fortune magazine held a clairvoyance evening at Chadwell Working Mens Club, Chadwell St Mary, Grays Essex and donated £700 to our charity. An absolutly amazing evening! You can read about Mandy's work at www.mandymasters.com . Thanks Mandy! |

| The Roundhouse, Lodge Avenue Dagenham quiz night 15th April |
| The evening raised £113 towards the charity. John Heath, the quiz host, has had a shield made up and has the winning teams engraved each time on the shield, he has named the quiz The Batten Charity Shield Quiz Night. We will be holding a quiz night every 2 months please check this space for dates. |

| Charity Evening - 8th March 2008 |
A quiz night & disco took place at the RUSH GREEN COMMUNITY CENTRE on 8th March 2008. The evening was arranged and organised by Laura Welch. Half the proceeds went to Sports Relief and half to John & Bridies Batten Disease Charity. A great night was had by all and a total of £317 was raised for our Charity. Many thanks to all who attended and special thanks to Laura for organising a great evening !! Attached photos are of Katie who won the junior colouring competition and Laura presenting Paula Alexander - one of our Directors - with the cheque. | Balloon Launch - 15th February 2008 |
| There was a balloon launch held at Jo Richardson Community School, Castle Green, Gale Street, Dagenham, Essex on 15th February. Jo Richardson released over 1,000 balloons on Bridie's 10th Birthday to raise awareness of this awful disease. This was be a televised event. | The Roundhouse Charity Quiz Night - 12th February 2008 |
| The Roundhouse in Dagenham held a charity quiz night and raised £131.78. A great night was had by all. |

| Raffle Draw - 9th February 2008 |
| A raffle was held at The Roundhouse, Lodge Avenue, Dagenham. 1st prize was a Fishing Holiday for 4 in France, 2nd prize was £100 and 3rd prize was an iPod Shuffle. Thanks to everyone who turned up on the night and also to all the people who bought tickets. A BIG thank you to Rob & Linda from Les Burons Fishing Lake, France for donating the holiday, Dantons Waste Management for donating £100 and Machoflash for donating the iPod. Congratulations to the winners!! The event raised a total of £1,284. Thank you! |

| Non Uniform Day - December 2007 |
| Bretons School, Hornchurch, Essex did non uniform day for our charity in December 2007and raised a total of £924. Many thanks to all staff and pupils!! |

| The Roundhouse in Dagenham held a charity quiz night and raised £260. A great night was had by all. Many thanks to Una! |

| Non Uniform Day - November 2007 |
| Rainham Village Primary School in Rainham, Essex held a non uniform day for the charity in November 2007. The children went into school wearing odd garments of clothes and raised a total of £354 for our charity, many thanks to all involved. |

| Fireworks Display at Angell Inn - 5th November 2007 |
| Angel Inn, Rainham held a charity firework evening on Monday 5th November and raised £100 |

| Castle Green Charity Football Match - 22nd October 2007 |
| Many thanks to all the kids who took part in the charity football match at Castle Green on 22nd October. Everyone had a great day! Special thanks to Kevin Flowers for kindly printing the girls t-shirts, a donating large banner and other nick nacks with charity logo on. Also a big thank you to Colin Jordan who kindly paid for the pitch, it was much appreciated. Thanks to Kirsty Jordan, Amy Jordan & Danielle Richardson for coming up with the charity match, organising the teams, venue, sponsor forms etc. The children raised a total of £728. |
